Karissa Jean Michel (Operations XO)

 

My name is Karissa Jean Michel, but also known as Cadet Jean. Something to know about me is that I am in class 2027, I am an upcoming sophomore and NS2. I recently got the Operation officer XO position within the chain of command. I am a scholarly student, and a person who focuses on the community in my free time. I work to get my grades up whenever and I am certain that this is a role I would continue to improve when continuing ROTC.

My job as an Operation XO is that I will be overseeing the role of the Operation Officer and assist on preparing field trips, bake sales, and other activities/events. But my main job would be focusing on the paperwork that comes along with it. I am excited for this opportunity as I will be learning how to manage things like organization, time management, and a little bit of budgeting. Also it will help with my strategizing. I am going to ensure that my department is running smoothly by keeping track of the paper work and making sure that everything is on schedule(meaning I would communicate to the other departments, making sure we are all on the same page). Another thing I am going to ensure is to keep some people accountable for things like their actions, but also vice-versa. Some extra things about my position is that I am one of the executives of the operation department, and this role will require some teamwork, attention to details, and the ability to work under pressure.
